Would I be able to add or become a caregiver for a medical marijuana patient in Michigan?
In Michigan, patients are allowed to designate a caregiver to assist with their medical marijuana needs. Caregivers must meet specific criteria: they must be at least 21 years old and have a clean criminal record with no drug felonies, violent felonies, or any felonies within the last 10 years.
To apply as a caregiver, follow these steps:
- Create an Account: Register an account on the Michigan State website. Ensure that the patient completes the caregiver section on their patient application to link your accounts.
- Obtain a Recommendation: Get a recommendation from a FadeMD doctor, which will support your application.
- Submit Application: Attach the certificate from FadeMD along with the required documents and submit everything to the Michigan Medical Marihuana Program (MMMP).
Once the application is approved, both the patient and the caregiver will receive a medical marijuana ID card, enabling legal access to and administration of medical cannabis.
